Speedy Sonic Speeds through games
| Sonic is back in an all new adventure (namely Sonic Advance). Speed through many levels and zones as you and your friends seek to find and defeat Dr. Robotnik who's plan is to use the chaos emeralds to turn innocent cute jungle animals into robots for his army. You can pick a multitude of characters that can do different techniques. Sonic for instance can double jump in mid-air for an extra boost. Tails can fly for a limited time, and knuckles can glide and climb walls. Amy can't do much, but her hammer makes up for that. What's also cool is the Tiny Chao Garden which allows you to raise and train a Chao Pet. (Don't worry, it's not too much like Pokemon) You can even trade with your friends. I really liked this game because of the smooth animation and easy control, not to mention the games not hard at all, even for begginning gamers. | ||||||
Sonic returns to his original 2-D world with great results
| Sonic has finally returned to the world of 2-D. Partially developed by Sonic Team, and partially developed by THQ, everything came together to form a game of very high caliber. Instead of just Sonic though, you have the freedom to choose to play as one of four characters; Sonic The Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower The Fox, Knuckles The Echidna, and Amy Rose. Each character has their own special talents that make their passage through the game different. The graphics, sound, play control, and game design are all great. Nothing about the game needs adjustment. As an added part to the game, you have to search the levels for secret springs which give you the chance to earn Chaos Emeralds. If you collect them all, something special happens. To top it all off, through use of a connection cable, Sonic Advance can hook up to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Game Cube. When connected you have the opportunity to transfer Chao data. The game itself, along with the extras make this a fantastic edition to the collection of Sonic fans everywhere. | ||||||
Sonic on a Nintendo system? Is the world ending?
| At the dawn of the twenty-first century, Sega shocked their long time fans. The company aborted production of its (relatively-new) Dreamcast console, and decided to become a third party exclusively. This meant the unthinkable would be happening - Yes, the Sonic The Hedgehog series was going to be on Nintendo systems! And a traditional-style Sonic game got released on the Game Boy Advance not long after. Read on for my review of Sonic Advance. PROS: CONS: OVERALL: Old-school Sega Genesis gamers are going to feel right at home with this game, and should purchase it without hesitation. The Sonic series (the side-scrolling games in it, anyway) were long overdue for a revival - and here Nintendo gives them one. | ||||||
