Been playing GT4 Prologue for about a month!
| I seriously hope that Sony puts a lot more effort into their completed product. Mind you the graphics are superb, I don't think that anyone can deny that. Playing the game looks like watching the intro movie. The driving physics are improved from the previous game, to a point. My major complaint is that when any type of traction control is turned on all the cars seem to drive the same. A rear wheel drive car drives like a front and vice versa. All the cars oversteer with the computer aided driving control. This problem is exacerbated in the rally modes. Another issue is the camera angles. The incar and 1st out of car angles are fine. The farthest camera angle makes the car look completely two-dimensional. The car turns like it is on a pivot about eight feet behind the car; it sweeps across the screen versus steering. Don't get me wrong, I have had a blast playing this game and will be the first in line when a release date is set. Everything that is good about this game far outweighs the bad. But, nonetheless, the negative points are a direct correlation to how the game is played. I'll say one thing, the tracks are phenomenal, the rally track especially. It also looks like they may be adding Sears Point Raceway, now known as Infineon. I could be wrong; but based on some of the ending movies I was able to recognize some key landmarks. Can't wait to play the real thing, minus the Prologue bugs. | |
READ THIS I HAVE PLAYED IT!
| I got a chance to get behind the wheel at E3 this year, so for all die hard fans out there this review is for you! One huge difference in the game one sees off the bat is the graphics. With new elements such as weather effects(rain, snow, etc.) and much more pixels per square inch it can be hard to tell the difference between the simulator and reality. Yes indeed many more cars will be availible, but unlike the previous Gran Turismo games many more classic cars will be availible. I cannot say what cars exactly, but some new brands will be added as well that have not been availible before. Here is the kicker, Sony teamed up with Logitech for the ultimate driving wheel to accompany the game. Much like last GT3 with the Force feedback wheel, Logitech has gone up and beyond unlike anything before this. A brand new Steering Wheel with a 900 DEGREE TURNING RADIUS!!!! unlike previous wheels with only about 200 degrees you will actually have to work hard to control the car. More than one turn on the wheel to be at full turning point! The Wheel is set to accompany the games release sometime near the fourth quarter of 2003! | |
Posibly the most impressive looking racer to date
| Posibly the most impressive looking racer to date. If only other game making companies could apply as much effort into a game as Sony has done with GT4 | |
